Theatre of Imagination

I had no idea this "unofficial" documentary even existed. Being the <strike>creepy stalker</strike> dedicated fan that I am, I felt that it was my duty to watch it.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

It's nice to see that Brent doesn't hold a grudge against the other boys. It also helps that he now vaguely resembles "hot".
Amazing what a good haircut can do.

Maybe I just have a really dirty mind, but I'm getting weird vibes from Brendon's German teacher. Someone should look into that. It's kind of unusual how he insists on describing Brendon as a fresh, young boy with "the sense of humor of an adult". I don't care if he's able to hold his own in a conversation with Wall Street stockbrokers, he would still be considered JAILBAIT! But hey, if Brendon wants to experiment with an older, more experienced guy, then who am I to deny him that right?

In other words, FIC REQUEST!

I demand that someone write a fic about Brendon as "an outgoing young man with an adult sense of humor," completely eager to show the hot German foreign exchange student around town. And naturally, Brendon learns certain things from said foreign exchange student.

Or go the other route. Take the idea of Brendon as a "teacher's assistant" and run with it. How exactly he's assisting the teacher is completely up to you.
GET TO IT!

P.S. German can be a very sexy language coming from the right person.

I Like Feeling Loved

So...an old friend of mine just asked me to be his prom date. It was so surreal. I haven't even talked to him in months. It's kinda perfect timing though. I've been whining about how I don't have anyone to ask to prom, so now, I might as well just ask him to mine. Then again, his prom night is on June 5. Mine is June 6. So, what if I'm too tired out to enjoy my own prom?

Oh, why do i suck at making decisions?! I shouldn't have to think about this for so long. It's not a life or death situation! I don't even care that much!!
*is pissed off at herself for being a generally indecisive person*

On that note.
Look at the tiny birdies fluttering about outside! They're so cute. And distracting.
*goes out to frolic with the squirrels and chipmunks and birds*

Man, they totally could've won the case this way:

A courtroom full of uptight people in suits
All eyes on Brent as he lifts his bass and plays
~~Discord!!!
Spencer makes his bitch face "I rest my case." *finger snap*
A little victory Joncer action
"Moving On" by the Backstreet Boys aimed at Brent

Whoa! Did Ryro steal lyrics from the Backstreet Boys?

We know we've changed
But we're still the same

(Hmmm...missing something)

BAAAND!
Hurrying Feet And Groping Hearts

So basically, writers from Africa rock my socks and float my boat! <strike>(xD who the hell came up with that phrase, anyway?)</strike>

Just one question, though. =\ Why do I still think about Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith when I'm reading stuff by a Nigerian poet? Seriously.

This is about a man caught between his home in Africa and the "developed" world of his western education. Both call loudly to him, causing him to feel lost and confused amid their contradictory traditions.

Piano and Drums by Gabriel Okara

When at break of day at a riverside
I hear jungle drums telegraphing
The mystic rhythm, urgent, raw
Like bleeding flesh, speaking of
Primal youth and the beginning,
I see the panther ready to pounce,
The leopard snarling about to leap
And the hunters crouch with spears poised;

And my blood ripples, turns torrent,
Topples the year and at once I’m
In my mother’s lap a suckling;
At once I’m walking simple
Paths with no innovations,
Rugged, fashioned with the naked
Warmth of hurrying feet and groping hearts
In green leaves and wild flowers pulsing.

Then I hear a wailing piano
Solo speaking of complex ways
In tear-furrowed concerto;
Of far-away lands
And new horizons with
Coaxing diminuendo, counterpoint,
Crescendo. But lost in the labyrinth
Of its complexities, it ends in the middle
Of a phrase at a daggerpoint.

And I lost in the morning mist
Of an age at a riverside keep
Wandering in the mystic rhythm
Of jungle drums and the concerto.

Can you feel the beat of the jungle drums? Can you hear the wailing piano solo? It just screams Spencer and Brendon.

Oh, I'd give anything for Panic at the Disco to turn this into a song.

// EDIT 7:36pm //

I am now moving on to Cuban authors. The Mambo Kings Play Songs of Love by Oscar Hijuelos. 448 pages of tiny font! xD This'll take me a while.

Methinks I should start my own book club.

The Falcon Cannot Hear the Falconer

I finally finished reading Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe.

"Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world.
~ W.B. Yeats, "The Second Coming"

You'd think that a story set in a society so different from ours (Western cultures) would be completely unrelateable. And yet, all the same raw human emotions and insecurities are present and very in-your-face.

I still can't believe that a Nigerian author has written something so fitting to Aristotle's Theory of Tragedy. Okonkwo is perfect as the strong hero with a tragic flaw (fear of failure), overcoming great adversity only to fall further into ruin. (omgosh the ending! Of course, with a title like Things Fall Apart, I didn't quite expect a happy ending, but god! xD *flail* It still doesn't beat the ending of The Zoo Story by Edward Albee, but I'll save that rant for tomorrow.)

You know what I love most about this novel? It raises the question of ethics without forcing a specific idea upon you. It leaves you thinking about it (for hours, perhaps days, in my case) and deciding for yourself what's wrong or right. Polygamy, domestic abuse, "heathen" customs, and Christianity are all called to question. Nothing is spared the scrutiny.

*sigh* Anyway, go read the book and come back to <strike>flail</strike> discuss the story with me!

Oh Rosevest, thou art sick!

I'm sure you all remember Ryan Ross's rose vest.

(Oh, the nostalgia!)

June is just around the corner and I still don't have a prom dress. It's not that I can't decide on one; it's just that I have a very specific idea of what I want. And I really really want a dress that resembles Ryro's rose vest.

This is probably a stupid idea, but I just can't shake it from my head. Sadly, the only way I could ever get a dress like that is if I contact Jake Oliver, Willie Marshall, Hyunwoo "Sean" Shin, and Emiliano Santillan.

And I have no idea how.

Even if I did, I seriously doubt they would want to make a prom dress for little old me.

I normally wouldn't let a things like this bother me, but for some reason it does. In fact, even this poem reminds me of the rose vest <strike>and of how Ryan totally took Brendon's virginity</strike>.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pG0Mxgfd03w

Oh Rose, thou art sick!

The invisible worm
That flies in the night,
in the howling storm

Has found out thy bed
Of crimson joy.
And with his dark secret love,
does thy life destroy.

~ William Blake

I am so sorry, Mr. Blake. Never again will I associate your poetry with Panic(!) at the Disco.

Oh yeah, I can see it now. "Leave Brendon alone! *sniffle* He's a HUMAN! *sob, sob*"

If this shit turns out to be real...I look forward to many more public outcries of angst and abuse from Lana. I mean, seriously, if Brendon really is such an asshole and you're still willing to be with him... I don't know. I guess you should just...

Ride that dick.

Pete da Pimp
We get it. Panic! is fucking amazing. I wouldn't be here stalking their website and LJ comm if I weren't already obsessed enough as it is. At this point, they might be costing me acceptance to an Ivy so this album better be even better than you promised.

Word Puzzles
What can I say? Enough is enough. Just tell us already! They're headlining the Honda Civic Tour *cheer* and they'll be releasing the single and music video for Nine in the Afternoon *cheer*

Or if you must insist on this mind torture, put your hints in the form of a different game. I'm thinking Twister. Yeah...that'll be a lot more fun.

Perhaps you could send over Lana, Brendon, and his "roommate"...

Wow, Livejournal is so weird!

I'm so used to Myspace and Facebook...which isn't a good thing. I really should stop making these blogs (although they're not really blogs, are they?) and start following my own advice that I give to my friends.

But see... I have a good reason for creating this page! I joined because I wanted to post comments on the p!atd community page thing. xD yup! That's the sole reason why I'm here. I can't just read their posts anymore, I HAVE to interact and stick my nose in everyone's business! Call me curious!

Hope Panic! at the Disco finishes their second second album early! (yeah, right)
